PriceArea Closes Series B Funding from GREE and So-net

Jakarta, Indonesia ‘ July 17th 2012 ‘ PriceArea.com, pioneer and the largest shopping search engine in Indonesia, today announced that it has raised a Series B funding round led by GREE Ventures, joining Sony’s So-net Entertainment with existing investor East Ventures.

The capital garnered through this funding round will be used to expand PriceArea’s current operations and marketing activities, and to develop cutting edge technologies for e-Commerce and advertising solutions.

Tatsuo Tsutsumi, a partner from GREE added, This round of funding is perfectly timed to grow PriceArea to meet the market demand and expansion plan to Southeast Asia.

PriceArea.com was launched on May 2010 and has over 5 million product listings from over 75,000 online and offline retailers in Indonesia. On October 2010, PriceArea received its first investment from East Ventures ‘ a Singapore based investment company that focuses on internet start-ups in Indonesia. As for GREE Ventures and So-net, PriceArea will be their first portfolio in Indonesia.
