New Feature From Rockto.com and Their Monetization Strategy

DailySocial managed to write some developments from Rockto, from their badge development, new features to their promotion program. This time Rockto.com added another feature called Rockto Share Button.

This facility makes things easier for those Rockto users who have their own blog or website and want to place button facility to share content to Rockto. This facility is also useful for new users who wish to place Rockto Share Button on their blog or website.

There two sharing buttons, codes, and Rockto has explained the placement how-to, you can see it here. As mentioned previously, Rockto did several additions from badge to social bookmarking development, all aiming towards monetizing strategy, and this time Rockto presents one of their monetizing strategy Rockto Social Campaign.

This Rockto Social Campaign actually has already run before with some programs, like with the campaign for Free! Magz, but it have just been offered or introduced to public recently.

From their website information, this Rockto Social Campaign offers various facilities, such as an exposure through their primary service, social bookmarking, which gave the space for its user to recommend a content like links, picture, sound, which later on would be accessible by Rockto users, and optimation with the other social media such as Facebook and Twitter.

Another facility is by using various badge available in Rockto. The brand owner or the party who wants to use Rockto as their social campaign device could make a special badge in accordance with their preferences or using the existing badge, complete with the game substance to get this badge.

The third program is by using a QR-code facility. Rockto will provide an offline campaign through QR-code which could be merged with the game substance (badge) in Rockto service.

Running the programs like Rockto actually could become a good way when the developed service has certain community or users. Of course we could still remember GantiBaju which made their service as a media outlet. The using of badge and integration with promotions also has been done by Foursquare.

For me, maximizing various features in Rockto such as badge for promotion is a proper strategy, at least with the game substance and unique design would surely keep the users attracted. One thing that has to be concern is the community itself.

The social bookmarking service is also not a new service and there are plenty of other service which gave the same facility. So it means Rockto has to be careful if later they got a client, who wants to use their promotion facility in their service. They better not to annoy their user community. The main challenge is to make the smooth promotion program, a right-to-the-point program but not a hard-selling one.

The additional share button facility, although it is not a killer feature could also seems to support one of the monetization strategies from Rockto. The more they adopt the share button, the more content they get, and the community also would grow and it would make more Rockto offering service.

At this moment there are three programs using the social campaign service from Rockto (one internal program), which for myself is still in the try-out phase, so now the real test would come. Let us see what kind of program would come next and which brand owner would be attracted by Rockto.com.
