Intel Indonesia Announced Their BlackBerry App “Warnai Hidupmu”

Intel Indonesia announced their app for BlackBerry with local touch called Warnai Hidupmu (Color Your Life), at Capocaccia, Pacific Place, May 5, 2011. This app is available for free in BlackBerry App World for handset using OS 5 and above. They worked together with 7langit in developing the apps and invited Dennis Adishwara and Asta Andoko (RAN) for the content because of the two gentlemen’s consistent performance in creative communication world in Indonesia.

Navin Shenoy, VP of Sales and Marketing Group and General Manager of Intel Corp Asia Pacific in their press released stated, “Warnai Hidupmu will enable cell phone users and technology enthusiast in Indonesia to gain easier access on Intel’s latest information and activity. We realize how our users in Indonesia are getting more and more creative and active in social network – Intel is here to reach out to them.”

There are six features in this app, and they are: “Intel Updates” presenting news, press release, latest activity and promotion from Intel Indonesia. The next is “Get Powered Up!” consisting everything you need to know related to technology, key feature, benefits and usage model from Intel products. The third one is, “Where to Get Us” showing information on promotion and nearby reseller to BlackBerry users.

The next one is, “Game On!” consisting quiz, game, and weekly competition for BlackBerry users. The fifth is, “Me Here! Now!” connects users to Intel’s Facebook page and @komunitasintel’s Twitter account. The last but not least is, “What Powers You?” where Intel collaborates exclusively with professionals from creative industry such as Indonesian photographer, movie director, animator, and musician, especially how they use Intel technology in creating their masterpieces.

Out of the six features, which I think will be most useful, is, “Where to Get Us” where you as user of this application can find out location of nearby Intel products reseller and promotions available, if there’s any. Other than that, “Game On!” if well wrapped, can become one of fun things to spend your spare time with.

Oon Arfiandwi, CTO of 7langit, as Intel Indonesia’s partner in developing this application emphasized that this Super App will be available for both OS 5 and OS 6, and will be optimized to OS 7. When asked about the possibility of developing the application for BlackBerry PlayBook platform, Oon said that they need to wait until PlayBook is released in Indonesia to be sure of that.

Meanwhile in Q&A session, Navin explained that this is Intel’s experiment in conducting marketing innovation through mobile application. They don’t have any specific target and they chose BlackBerry certainly due to its popularity in Indonesia for the last few years. Of course, there’s still possibility of developing the application for other platform, other than BlackBerry, and the possibility of using this method in other countries in Asia. For Navin himself, from Intel’s point of view, Indonesia is very unique. Smart phone users are abundant and Indonesia is Asian country with the largest growth of notebook selling (and usage).

This application, “Warnai Hidupmu”, is yet to be found in App World, but we present it here to you. Below is several screenshots of it.
