Go-Jek Might Expand to Other Transportation Modes

Go-Jek seems to keep innovating, regardless the negative issues it faces. In fact, it’s not impossible to see Go-Jek expanding to other modes of transportation, although it currently enjoys a remarkable success from providing bike transportation and delivery services. Nadiem Makarim, Go-Jek’s CEO, even confirmed about this expansion plan.

“I can’t tell you anything at the moment. But we’re considering about an expansion, by gathering truck drivers for instance. This is because Ojek drivers aren’t the only one that needs mobile app. Just you wait,” he stated.

Regardless to all negative issues being addressed to the service, Go-Jek has proven to the public that its innovation and idea really are beneficial to many people. The presence of direct competitors as well as the government’s compliment and invitation to form a partnership indeed prove that Go-Jek has done something noble to human mankind.

The forementioned expansion plan was actually coined by DKI Jakarta’s Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok). A couple of times ago, Ahok asked Go-Jek to create another app called Go-Truck to solve the docking problems at the port.

“Now, if trucks from Riau, Jambi, and Medan want to enter Jakarta, they have to wait for a very long time before getting docked. Thus, I asked them to create Go-Truck,” said Ahok.

This might be the sign that Go-Jek is ready for another journey, given the fact that the Governor asked the team directly. FYI, Go-Jek has currently entered big cities other than Jakarta, like Bandung, Bali, and Surabaya, and had hundred thousand of units.
