About Run Princess Run and Imaginarium Games, Indie Game Studio

Before the end of the 2011, DailySocial took the time to write about trends that will occur in 2012. One of it is mobile games. It has only been two months in 2012 but many local companies are already active in the mobile gaming activity. The latest is Imaginarium Games. This game studio is based in Yogyakarta and it has just launched its first game called "Run Princess Run".

Currently Run Princess Run is only available in Nokia platform. After having well received in 113 countries, it plans to create versions for Android and Windows Phone platform. Meanwhile, as an effort to promote Run Princess Run, it will hold a high score competition with Nokia phone as a prize. If you are interested to participate in the competition, could see the information on this link.

Imaginarium Games reveals itself as an independent game development studio. Although it was only established in February 2012, Imaginarium Games could release its first game which had been developed before the company was even fully established. Currently, Imaginarium Games consists of 4 people only, 1 game designer and 3 programmers. It says that it is currently looking for an artist who shares common idea to join its team.

In an interview via email, Nikko Soetjoadi (a game designer of Imaginarium Game) said that the team is a collection of people who have an interest in games. With a passion to develop a game, they eventually agreed to set up a studio hoping to be creative and create their own works. The game result also must be qualified and not only a copycat game trying to imitate the success of the original. For that, they are ready to learn something new and give their best effort.

Imaginarium expects that technology industry in Indonesia, especially those based in Yogyakarta, can survive and grow rapidly not only in quantity but in quality. The company dreams for Yogyakarta to become an Indonesian Silicon Valley. This may be realized because of the culture of openness which Yogyakarta naturally has. The technology industry players in Yogyakarta, according to Nikko, know each other and want to share or grow together.

When he was asked about being open to investors, Nikko said that currently Imaginarium is focusing on delivering products so that later, if there are interested investors, Imaginarium could show the quality and potential of what it can build.
