Worldwide Hackathon Continues in Jakarta

Jakarta, (7/6/2013) — AngelHack, a global hackathon event, takes its worldwide challenge to Jakarta this weekend after kicking off in April in Los Angeles and London. The event spans 30 cities and has recorded more than 3000 participants. AngelHack Jakarta will be held at IDC Indonesia in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, sponsored by BlackBerry, Amazon Web Services, Yahoo, IceHouse, and others.

AngelHack, the leading hackathon organizer, brings Silicon Valley’s tech ecosystem to the rest of the world. Organizing the Silicon Valley style hackathons worldwide, that take place in over thirty cities, and gives top teams a ticket to the Silicon Valley. AngelHack is different from your average hackathon; their events typically gather 150- 200 developers and the events run for 36 hours and encourage developers to hack overnight.

AngelHack offers winners the chance to join AngelHack’s Accelerator program to ensure each hackathon project is formed into a viable startup. The goal of AngelHack is provide developers a platform, to help inspire entrepreneurship, introduce new technologies, and give developer and startup communities the opportunity to come together in hopes of creating the next big startup of tomorrow.

40 winning teams from the global event will be flown to join AngelHack Accelerator in San Francisco on 1-10 September 2013 to demo their products, raise investment, and attend TechCrunch Disrupt.

Previous winners of AngelHack have gone on to attend Y-Combinator, TechStarts, AngelPad, MassChallenge, and 500 Startups.

It is encouraging that for a first run event, AngelHack Jakarta has recorded more than 200 registered participants through its sign up page on Eventbrite https:// jakartas13.eventbrite.com. Winners from the Jakarta event will receive additional major prizes from BlackBerry and Amazon Web Services.

AngelHack Jakarta is organized by Fajar Budiprasetyo of Ice House, Dellawati Wijaya of Viki, Wuri Rostandi of InternetQ, and Aulia Masna of DailySocial.
