Web Developer Senior Web Developer (Team Lead)

mig33 is looking for Web Developers to join our team and Senior Web Developer to lead the team in Jakarta, Indonesia.

We develop and maintain the largest mobile-first social network in the world; the mig33 mobile application is running on over 2,000 mobile handset models worldwide. mig33 now have over 25 million registered users in Indonesia and 46 million users worldwide (www.mig33.com).

We’re looking for people who enjoy problem solving, have no fear of complex, dynamic systems, who can create tools and develop quality software, as well as communicate effectively with both techies and non-techies alike. We love Open Source Software, and our in-house systems are usually written in Java, PHP, Ruby, or Python. Responsibilities:

• Develop good quality software – including considerations for testability, scalability, reliability, internationalization, support and operations requirements
• Have fun working in collaboration with a cross-functional team of product managers, user experience designers, engineers, and QA
• Recommend best practices and improvements to existing systems and processes
• Write good documentation
• For Senior Web Developer: Lead the mig33 development team in Jakarta; provide guidance and technical leadership.

Requirements:

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
• Excellent command of the English language both written and spoken (especially for Senior Web Developer)
• Working knowledge in PHP, JavaScript, HTML
• Experience developing MySQL-based web applications
• Working knowledge of version control systems (SVN, Git)
• Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX
• Exceptional problem solving and communication skills
• Desire to work in a collaborative environment on really interesting problems
• Good command of the English language both written and spoken
• A good sense of humor

Bonus:
System administration, SQL/DBA, system engineering experience
Toolsmithing and systems programming/debugging
Experience in mig33 is a plus
